Description
These 14k solid gold Greek Key (Meander) rhombus earrings feature a secure pin and butterfly lock (push-back closure). Each earring has a flat, polished front and a smooth flat back for comfortable wear.
Upon request, we can create these earrings in 14k or 18k gold, as well as in white or rose gold.
The meander motif takes its name from the Meander River, known for its winding path and famously mentioned by Homer in the Iliad. Also known as the Greek Key or Greek fret, the meander stood as one of the most important
symbols in Ancient Greece and represented infinity and the eternal flow of life. Many also connected the design to the Cretan labyrinth, as the meander reflects a labyrinth in linear form. Its twisting pattern symbolizes friendship and love, while its serpent-like shape evokes guardianship and healing.
