14k Gold Minoan Double Axe (Pelekis) Greek Pendant Labrys is the Lydian word for the double-bitted axe. In Greek it was called Î Îλεκυς (Pélekus).
In ancient Crete, the double axe was an important sacred symbol of the Minoan religion. The “Pelekis” is not a weapon and it always accompanies Female goddesses.
Small versions were used as offerings and have been found to Arkalochori and Messara in Crete.
This Double Axe Pendant can be provided in 14k and 18k or any color of gold. All our jewelry pieces are handcrafted in our workshop in the center of Athens.
