Description

Presenting the 14k gold Minoan Honey Bee Pendant #4, a faithful reproduction of the original ancient Greek pendant discovered in 1930 at Chrysolakkos, Malia, Crete. Dating back to the Middle Bronze Age (1800 – 1600BC). This intricately detailed piece showcases two bees transporting honey to their honeycomb, symbolizing mutual support and fertility. Known as “melissa” in Greek, the honeybee holds cultural significance worldwide. As the most famous piece of Minoan jewelry, the original pendant is exhibited at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum in Crete. Handcrafted in our Athens workshop, this Minoan Honey Bee Pendant #4 exemplifies the artist’s mastery of granulation and filigree techniques. Please note, the price excludes the 14k gold chain, allowing for personalization.
