14k solid gold Greek Key (Meander) earrings. These square Greek key dangle earrings feature a pin and butterfly lock closure. The meander, or meandros, forms a decorative border from a continuous line that creates a repeating motif.
Ancient Greeks valued it as one of their most important symbols, often associating it with infinity and unity. Many also connect the design to the Cretan labyrinth, as the meander represents a labyrinth in linear form. Its twisting pattern symbolizes
friendship and love, while some interpretations link it to the serpent, a symbol of guardianship and healing. This symbolism may explain its appearance on armor, including the shield of Philip II of Macedon.
