14k solid gold coin pendant. The pendant of wisdom. In Greek mythology, a little owl traditionally represents or accompanies Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Because of this correlation, the bird is often referred to as the “owl of Athena” and has been used as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. The coin is a replica coin of an original Athenian Owl Tetradrachm. On the front side appears the head of Athena, wearing earrings, necklace, and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over the visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl. At the back of the coin appears the Owl, head facing, and an olive sprig and berry in the upper left field. This collection of “Athenian Owl Tetradrachm” contains four different sizes of the coin, the one here is the third size. All of our jewelry pieces are inspired by Ancient Greek history and are handcrafted in our workshop in the center of Athens.
