Description
14k gold Greek Triangle Pendant #2 with a Greek key/Meander design in a triangle shape. This Greek key pendant is hollow at the back side of the design. A meander or meandros is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif.
It was among the most important symbols in ancient Greece and perhaps symbolized infinity and unity. It is considered that there is a connection with the Cretan labyrinth – the meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form. The twisting pattern symbolizes the bonds of friendship and love and has also been thought to mimic the serpent. The Greek key is a symbol of guardianship and healing. Perhaps this is why the design was also used on armor, such as the shield of Philip II of Macedon.
Any customization can be provided in any carat or color of gold. The Greek Triangle Pendant #2 and all our jewelry pieces are handcrafted in our workshop in the center of Athens.
