14k solid gold Greek key (Meander) small hoop earrings. Finish any look with these small size Greek key hoops. The meander design is all around the hoop but it is wider at the center and narrow at the edges. The lock type of this earring is pin and butterfly (push back). A meander or meandros is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif. It was among the most important symbols in ancient Greece, and perhaps symbolized infinity and unity. It is considered that there is a connection with the Cretan labyrinth – the meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form. The twisting pattern symbolizes as well the bonds of friendship, of love and has also been thought to mimic the serpent, symbol of guardianship and healing. These Greek key hoops can be provided in 14k or 18k gold, as well as in white gold or pink gold.
