Description
14k gold Greek Key (Meander) wedding band ring. This unique 14k gold band is a unisex design, has two different colors of gold and can be produced in many sizes and different combination of gold (yellow, pink and white gold). The meander design is found all around the ring. In the center, there is a whitegold polished line of the meander design, and the left and right parts have solid yellow gold endings. A meander or meandros is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif. It was among the most important symbols in ancient Greece, and perhaps symbolized infinity and unity. It is considered that there is a connection with the Cretan labyrinth – the meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form. The twisting pattern symbolizes as well the bonds of friendship, of love and has also been thought to mimic the serpent, symbol of guardianship and healing. Perhaps this is why the design was also used on armor, such as the shield of Philip II of Macedon. All our jewelry pieces are handcrafted in our workshop in the center of Athens and are inspired by Ancient Greece history.
