Description
14k (585) solid yellow gold short dangle Greek key/meander earrings with pin and butterfly lock (push back). These short dangle Greek key earrings consist of two pieces, the one with the lock and the half ball, pin and butterfly and the other with the gold meander in rhombus form and machine-made piece. The earrings have polished finishing in 14k yellow gold. The most interesting about this design is that the pair has the opposite design for each ear. A meander or meandros is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif. It was among the most important symbols in ancient Greece, and perhaps symbolized infinity and unity. It is considered that there is a connection with the Cretan labyrinth – the meander is the figure of a labyrinth in linear form. The twisting pattern symbolizes as well the bonds of friendship, of love and has also been thought to mimic the serpent, symbol of guardianship and healing. All of our jewelry pieces are handcrafted in our workshop in the center of Athens and are inspired by the Ancient Greek history.
